Amazon Kindle 2 announced should I buy it?

Amazon announced the Kindle 2 today. It looks pretty cool and I like that it can read aloud the books to you if you want.

But for me, part of the joy of real paper books is that after you’re done reading them, you can give the book to a friend or family member, or sell it. With Kindle books you cannot do that. That said, it’s nice to be able to save a tree.

I’ve played around with a friends Kindle 1 before and the text was surprisingly readable and it was fun to use. What do you think? Should I order the Kindle 2?

UPDATE – I bought it and I really like it!

UPDATE 2 – You can now read your Kindle books on the iPhone/iPod Touch!

UPDATE 3 (May 6th, 2009) – The larger Kindle DX has been announced.

This product could be interesting to help young people to discover reading… In france less and less people read and it’s really sadly. :(

Agreed. Rumor is that an educational version is in the works.
