Inside The UC Berkeley Art Museum

This is an iPhone image I made last weekend at The University of California Berkeley Art Museum. I found out the museum is moving out of this building. I sure hope the building doesn’t get torn down!

Interiors of my Uncle’s House

I had Thanksgiving over at my Uncle Doug and Aunt Tami’s house (an annual tradition) and what follows are a few interior shots I made of the home at times in between visiting with family and eating (which wasn’t that much time). Uncle Doug designed and built the house. He’s an architect in San Francisco.

The first image is a bit of an illusion because there is actually a set of stairs to the left that lead up to the kitchen:

The Golden Gate Bridge & San Francisco Scenes

Here are a few of my favorite images that I’ve photographed from around San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Bridge in Fog – taken from the Marin Headlands turnoff at about 9:00AM, just as a heavy fog layer was burning off in the morning sun:

Golden Gate Bridge with Bicycle. This was taken from Fort Point, pre 9/11/2001. Today this shot would not be possible because the area is fenced off due to security issues. This is also where Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo was filmed. Remember the scene where Kim Novak jumps into the bay?

Walking across the bridge on a foggy morning. That’s the sun shining through the fog:

A typical San Francisco scene shot on a walk from North Beach to downtown. Just to the right, out of the frame, is the famous City Lights book store made famous in the ’50s as a hangout for beatnik poets like Jack Kerouac. Featured is the Sentinel Building, currently owned by Francis Ford Coppola.

These were all taken at different times in the last decade but they seem to work well together as a series. Thanks for looking!

Cool San Francisco Building – Contemporary Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind

I was out shopping the other day and passed by the new Contemporary Jewish Museum building (Daniel Libeskind).

Cool architecture:

UPDATE 6/7/08 – The museum officially opened today.
