You may have noticed that I’ve just changed to a different blog design. I’ve moved to a WordPress blog.
You might ask, “Why would I move from a custom-designed blog to a WordPress one?” The answer is simple-my old blog by Flosites was having a lot of trouble, posts would mysteriously vanish and the administration interface was messed up too. After getting little to no response from them upon contacting them with more than a few problems, I decided to just cut my losses and move to WordPress; and I couldn’t be happier! WordPress is so much better in every way.
I have a lot more customizations available to me and much better SEO. Plus, the WordPress administration (the part I see when I’m creating and managing posts) is worlds better. I also look forward to being able to easily install many of the readily available Wordpress plug-ins to add more functionality to the blog as time goes on. WordPress is more open than a custom blog in that respect. More importantly, it’s well-tested and reliable, a welcomed change from my old Flosites blog which was unreliable and had quite a few programming errors.
So, what am I going to do with all my old posts from the old blog?
I’ll be recreating many of them below this post but it will take some time as it’s a bit of a laborious process. Wordpress nicely allows you to edit the post date to any date in the past and it puts the post in the proper order. So when I’m done, it will look like all the posts before this one were always there.
Stay tuned!
